Guide: How to Save Money While Planning Your Dream Trip to the Maldives

The Maldives is often everyone’s dream vacation. Known for its stunning beach landscapes that are nothing short of paradise and incredible luxury and hospitality, a trip to the Maldives truly feels like heaven on Earth. However, this trip can get feel really pricey for some. Personally, I’m all about affordable luxury, so I’m sharing some easy ways to save money if you’re trying to plan a trip to the Maldives!

Avoid resorts where you have to take a seaplane

You’re better off picking a resort close to land. If you end up taking a seaplane, while the price depends on each hotel it can run you upwards of $500 per person each way! Especially for those with a bigger party if you can skip the expense, you’re definitely in a better place.

Skip the overwater bungalow, you don’t really need it!

I get it, the water bungalow pics are definitely Insta worthy. However, while in the Maldives you will spend most of your day by the water and the restaurants and bars are on the water as well.

Travel: book another flight to Asia as a first stop

From New York City to the Maldives, it’s an 18-and-a-half-hour flight! An easier and less costly option is to make the Maldives just one stop on your trip. Ex: I flew to India first!

I hope these tips help you plan your next incredible vacation! XO
