Ashni Eats World: August Restaurant List

Wow, can you believe it’s already August?!? This summer is flying by — and while I can’t pause time, I can help you find some great restaurants to try before summer starts to wrap up! Whether you’re in New York City for a weekend or you’re a seasoned New Yorker, be sure to check out my favorite restaurants this month.

RH Rooftop

Looking for great bites with even better views? Look no further than Restoration Hardware’s Rooftop. Located in Meatpacking, this rooftop is the perfect location for Sunday morning brunch with the girls or Friday night date night! Y’all already know I make it a habit to stop by the RH Cafe in every city that has one — the vibes (and the chai) never disappoint. Make sure you stop by while the weather is still nice to really make the most of their stunning outdoor seating.

Seeyamañana

This is the perfect spot to grab a very strong cocktail (or three) and enjoy the mostly plant based Mexican inspired cuisine. If you’ve been searching for the best new vegan hotspot look no further than Seeyamañana. I’m a huge fan of the creative veggie-friendly Mexican food on their menu, and I can’t wait to go back again.

Casa La Femme

Summers in NYC obviously mean finding the cutest floral decor, and Casa La Femme has you covered. The outdoor garden makes for the perfect day time dining vibes, and it’s hard to believe, but the inside is even cuter! The food and service are amazing, and the menu has something for everyone.

Sola Pasta Bar

Don’t just take my word for it, Sola Pasta Bar has been featured in Eater, The New York Times, Vox and nearly 30 other major outlets! Whether you’re seated indoors or outdoors the setup is beautiful. Make sure you try the truffle tagliatella and the ricotta stuffed gnocchi that are truly to die for! If you go with a bigger group, I highly recommend doing the tasting menu, so you can try a little of everything.

Dhamaka

From the same chef as NYC favorites Rahi and Adda, Dhamaka is one of the newest Indian restaurants on the block. If I could, I would be here every day! The vision behind this restaurant was to bring authentic Indian cooking into the restaurant scene — and that vision was perfectly executed! Next time you’re in the Lower East Side be sure to check them out.

Bohemian

A speakeasy restaurant hidden in the building where iconic artists Warhol and Basquiat once lived — exclusive, minimalist, and delicious… there’s no better way to describe Bohemian. The intimate speakeasy vibes were enough to make me want to go back, but then I tried the food and I was totally sold. In order to dine in, you must be referred by a previous diner or try your luck with an email introduction. Lucky for you, you can use my name as a referral when you try to snag a rezzie for your next date night! Trust me, this is one you don’t want to miss. The spinach truffle artichoke was a definite favorite.

Ruta Oaxaca

Daily brunch, taco Tuesdays, and incredible cocktails — count me in! This new Astoria Mexican restaurant is the perfect place to get together no matter what day of the week.

Hope this helps with you find some amazing new places to eat in NYC this August! If you missed our July NYC Restaurant List, you can read it here. Happy eating, my loves! xo
