The Perfect Nashville Getaway

My weekend getaway in Nashville almost didn’t happen — because your girl made it on her flight with only seconds to spare (as per usual)! Despite the questionable start, I had the best time visiting the Music City. Here’s my itinerary for those of you looking to check out the best places that Nashville has to offer:

Day 1

After we checked into our adorable AirBnb, our first order of business was food, of course! I wasn’t going to let being vegetarian stop me from trying Nashville’s famous hot chicken sandwich. I’ve always been curious about the hype around chicken sandwiches, and y’all already know how much I love anything hot and spicy — so I just knew I had to find a vegan version. Luckily, Nashville did not disappoint. We were able to find a vegan Nashville hot chicken sandwich at Vege-licious Cafe! And y’all, let me just say Nashville understands ✨flavor.✨

My next order of business was going to get drinks at Pinewood Social! Pinewood Social is your one-stop-shop for everything: A trendy restaurant, a comfortable coffee shop, a welcoming work space and a craft cocktail bar with a chic bowling alley that served the cutest drinks. So there’s something for everyone, no matter what your interest! Riddhi ordered a delicious cocktail and I enjoyed the prettiest cup of masala chai with a pink flower garnish on top.

You know me… I always need something to munch on with my chai! We ordered soft pretzels with spicy queso — the perfect snack to much on while we enjoyed our drinks in one of Nashville’s cutest bars!

Day 2

We started our day with breakfast at the iconic and award-winning Loveless Cafe. Known for its biscuits and Southern cooking, Loveless Cafe is located in an old repurposed motel and is arguably one of the best places to get authentic Southern food in Nashville. It’s been featured by nearly everyone from Martha Stewart to Bobby Flay, and I can see why. Did I devour an entire basket of biscuits with way too much butter? Yes. Do I have any regrets? Absolutely not. We also ordered the waffles with pecans, and I can confirm this is the best way to start the day. I would recommend this place for breakfast any day, but it’s especially great for when you’re nursing a Nashville-induced hangover.

Next, we headed to RH Cafe to finish out our work day. I’m in love with the ambiance at all RH Cafes, so I was excited to see what the location in Nashville looked like. A gorgeous fountain acts as a centerpiece with a stunning chandelier overhead, and sunlight fills up the whole cafe surrounded by the perfect touch of greenery. I ordered no less than four cups of chai and then switched over to the most incredible rose lemonade for something more light and refreshing!

For happy hour, we stopped by L27 Nashville, the rooftop bar at the Westin Hotel. There are 360-views of downtown Nashville, paired with an infinity pool that looks out into million-dollar views. If you’re looking to rooftop vibe with fabulous cocktails, check this place out!

Y’all know I can’t resist finding the best Indian food in every city, so when I found out award-winning Chef Maneet Chauhan has two restaurants in Nashville, I just had to go! We snagged a rezzie at Chauhan Ale and Masala House, one of Nashville’s top 10 restaurants — and it did not disappoint. We had gol guppa shots, incredible paneer tikka, and chili cheese kulcha. We ended our delicious feast with a rose gulab jamun cheesecake — and it was divine.

After dinner, we made our way to ACME to enjoy some live music at the end of the night. Known for being a local hotspot, ACME is always a good time! I definitely felt like I got an authentic Nashville experience.

Day 3

We started our day the best way — with some delicious biscuits from Nashville’s famous Biscuit Love. We walked around The Gulch, a neighborhood known for its cute boutiques, trendsetting restaurants, and instafamous murals. Naturally, we had to stop by the What Lifts You Mural and take some fun pics for the ‘gram.

Pro-tip: If you’re planning to go to Biscuit Love, make sure you get in line early. The line can get VERY long.

After exploring The Gulch and buying myself some flowers from Amelia’s Flower Truck, we headed to Liberty Common for brunch. Liberty Common is one of Nashville’s most trendy brunch spots, and you’re likely to see a ton of big groups celebrating and dining together. Most importantly, the food and service is amazing. We had a fantastic time trying all the essentials: pancakes, biscuits, and chai. Stop by the Hampton Social next door to enjoy some post brunch rose and the cutest ambiance ever.

Nashville is known to have great rooftop bars, so I was super excited to check out White Limozeen, a Dolly Parton inspired bar with all pink decor! Obviously I was in my element, so you know I had to wear a hot pink blazer to match the aesthetic! The drinks were all refreshing and of course, we had to order one of their signature champagne jello shots with sprinkles.

We ended up having dinner at Bar Taco. While you might not plan on eating excellent Mexican food while in Nashville, you’d be surprised by this laid-back restaurant because it serves amazing (and cheap) tacos. Can you believe they have falafel tacos?! With several veggie options and a lively vibe, It’s the perfect place to have a quick bite!

Everyone knows that you have to visit Nashville’s Honky Tonk Highway on Lower Broadway when you come to this electric city! We had the best time bar-hopping and dancing the night away. We visited a bunch of fun bars like Honky Tonk Central, Tootsies Orchid Lounge, and Luke’s 32 Bridge. It’s so fun to see this part of town and wander down Broadway!

Day 4

Before I left Nashville, I had to visit Five Daughters Bakery to try their 100-layer donuts, which are basically cronuts. We ordered one of every flavor and made ourselves a donut tasting, because why not? We ordered the two most popular flavors: vanilla cream and maple glaze. We also got mini donuts in these mouth-watering flavors: mini blueberry lemon, cinnamon, vanilla glaze, and triple raspberry.

The famous ‘100-layer donut’ just means there are so many layers of depth in the dough — it’s amazing! My favorite was the blueberry lemon, while Riddhi’s fave was the triple raspberry glaze!

We tried to eat the maple glaze with our hands, but it was filled with creme, so that was a no-go. Honestly, I was left speechless by how amazing their donuts were! The flavors were super unique! 10/10 recommend.

After eating the world’s best donuts, we decided to put our sugar rush to good use by shopping! We took some photos around the 12 South Nashville murals because we live for a good photo op! The “I Believe in Nashville” mural paired with my white fringe jacket might just be my new 2021 aesthetic. We also visited Draper James, which is Reese Witherspoon’s boutique.

We had brunch reservations at Sinema, which is the iconic repurposed Melrose theater. It was one of the most incredible dining experiences — because it was unlimited food and drink! Talk about the best of both worlds. We literally ordered four plates of chilaquiles because what else do you do with the power of ordering unlimited food? We also ordered their signature fruity pebble french toast — and it was the best way to wrap up our meal.

As our trip was coming to a close, we wanted to make sure we visited all of Nashville’s popular sites so we walked the Pedestrian Bridge and toured Country Music Hall of Fame. We thoroughly enjoyed sightseeing and enjoying the unique places Nashville has to offer.

Fo our final meal in Nashville, we stopped by The Wild Cow — a cute little restaurant with 100% vegan food in the heart of the city. And then visited more music bars along Broadway and had the best time.

I couldn’t imagine having a better time in Nashville. We saw the sights, ate the best food, experienced phenomenal views, and spent quality time with my best friend. If you’re interested in going to Nashville for a quick weekend getaway — I couldn’t recommend it enough!

If you were on the fence about Nashville, I hope I’ve convinced you to go. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line! xo
