My Favorite South Asian Skincare Products

Growing up, finding skincare products that really felt like they were made for brown skin were nearly impossible to find. Luckily, all that is changing with so many amazing South Asian-founded skincare brands hitting the market! The skincare industry is evolving, and South Asian-founded brands are at the forefront of this transformation. By blending traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with modern science, South Asian skincare brands offer a wide range of products suitable for all skin types and concerns — and best of all, it combines the natural home remedies my family passed down with modern skincare! Here are my favorite South Asian skincare products that I can’t live without:

Aavrani Moisturizing Hydra-Cream

As seen in Allure, Aavrani’s oil-free, daily moisturizer is infused with lychee, moringa leaf, and tamarind seed and instantly nourishes and hydrates your skin. I can’t get enough of how this lightweight formula by Aavrani feels on my skin!

Inde Wild AM Sunscreen Glow Drops

This feels like the sunscreen I’ve been waiting for! Not only is Inde Wild’s sunscreen lightweight and spf 50, it leaves no white-cast. It also contains ingredients like niacinamide that helps fight acne and signs of aging. While most sunscreens feel heavy on the skin, Inde Wild’s specifically combats clogged pores, which is key!

Forest Essentials Kashmiri Saffron & Neem Delicate Facial Cleanser

Combining ancient Ayurvedic wisdom with modern skincare science, Forest Essentials is one of India’s biggest beauty brands, and for good reason. This gentle but effective cleanser is specially designed to treat sensitive, acne-prone, and oily skin, and leaves the skin glowing!

Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Eye Masks

This cult-favorite product needs no introduction, but if you haven’t tried Wander Beauty’s dazzling gold under-eye masks — stop what you’re doing and add to cart right now! This is 100% a travel essential for me, perfect to use on flights or while I’m on vacation.

Love, Indus Velvet:08 Broadway Bright Detox Mask

Just putting on this velvety mud mask feels like a self-care ritual in itself, so the incredible results it has on my skin might just be an added bonus! This mask by Love, Indus tightens pores, brightens dull tone, and deep-cleans the skin in less than eight minutes — and it might even help reduce the appearance of facial hair, thanks to a special ingredient called thanaka wood that is known to reduce the regrowth of peach fuzz. I mean, this mask is doing the MOST in just 8 minutes once a week!

Pur Earth Wild Rose Himalayan Mist

This hydrating mist has been a gamechanger for my perpetually dehydrated skin and damaged skin barrier. I use a few spritzes in between steps during my skincare routine, to set my makeup, or for a quick refresh throughout the day. And my favorite part is the scent actually transports you to the Himalayas.

Just Neem Clay Mask

This award-winning face mask is made with vitamins and minerals that are great for all skin types. My skin immediately feels soothed when I apply this clay mask to my face. I use it about two to three times a week — and I’ve definitely noticed a difference in the way my skin looks. This mask makes my skin glow

Sahajan Skincare Cleansing Oil

I made the switch over from makeup wipes to cleansing oil a few years ago, and there’s no going back. Sahajan Skincare has one of my favorite oil-based cleansers!

Soma Ayurvedic Vitamin C Serum

Vitamin C serum is a fundamental component that everyone should incorporate into their skincare routine. Soma Ayurvedic's Vitamin C Serum is the best I’ve tried yet! The ingredients are derived from the Indian forest — you can smell the natural rose and citrus ingredients squeezed inside the serum. This serum evens out my skin tone and makes my skin feel fabulous.

The serum is a bit pricey, but I’ve been using it to soothe my skin after using a pretty strong exfoliated, and my skin has never felt softer!

Ranavat Natural Kansa Wand Facial Massage Tool

The Kansa wand is one of the oldest and most underrated facial tools. It has recently regained popularity, thanks to popular Ayurvedic beauty brand Ranavat. The Kansa wand’s dome shape relaxes facial muscles, releases tension, and can also be used on other marma points on the body to relieve stress. Kansa is made of copper and tin, which helps to balance the pH of your skin by making it more alkaline and less susceptible to acne.

Dr. Lara Devgan Eyelash Serum

If you’ve never used an eyelash serum, now’s the time to try! I love the Dr. Lara Devgan Eyelash Serum because it naturally encourages my eyelashes to grow longer, and I can avoid putting on false eyelashes. I feel like the definition of ‘I woke up like this’ because of the results I’ve seen from this eyelash serum. You need to use this product (or any eyelash serum) for a few weeks to notice a difference. But once you try this eyelash serum, you’ll never look back!

Visha Skincare Fitness Scrub

This fitness scrub is a 5-in-1 product that gets the job done. It absorbs odor, exfoliates, cleanses, decreases bumps on the skin, and decreases dry skin. I love this exfoliator because it’s effective while still feeling gentle on my skin. My skin feels invigorated after I use it! I recommend this scrub if you’re someone who struggles with dry or sensitive skin.

You’re seriously doing yourself a disservice if you don’t get the Unity Balm Gloss. It’s everything!  You can add this gloss anywhere you’d like for a hydrated and dewy look. I like to put it on my cheekbones and cupid’s bow to make my defining features stand out!
